- From bedside to Behavioral Health
-
Her career began at the bedside in medical-surgical and telemetry settings, where she developed a strong foundation in clinical care. While she was deeply committed to supporting her patients’ physical recovery, she became increasingly drawn to the psychological and emotional dimensions of healing. Through these experiences, she recognized that truly effective care requires honoring the human condition in its entirety — mind, body, and spirit.
Driven by her 2017 experience with the foster care system, she dedicated her practice to understanding how Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) reshape neurobiology. Her work emphasizes the critical link between early-life stress, the gut-brain axis, and long-term emotional development. By prioritizing intervention at any stage in your life, she aims to disrupt the cycle of psychiatric and medical morbidity associated with childhood trauma. - Vision
-
She founded Graceful Inner Light to provide a therapeutic environment where individuals can engage in meaningful self-exploration and healing. Her approach is grounded in clinical professionalism and delivered with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and respect for each person’s lived experience. She believes that every individual possesses an inherent capacity for resilience and growth, even during periods when psychological distress may obscure a sense of purpose or connection.
Her clinical mission is to support patients in developing insight, self-compassion, and sustainable healing through a comprehensive treatment model. Utilizing evidence-based medication management, trauma-informed care principles, and integrative lifestyle interventions, she partners with patients to promote psychological stability, functional improvement, and a renewed sense of well-being aligned with their personal values and goals. - Professional Snap Shot

This advanced training enhances her ability to integrate a strong primary care foundation with specialized psychiatric assessment, diagnostic formulation, and evidence-based treatment planning, supporting her role as a clinical leader in delivering comprehensive mental health care.
Her clinical background includes extensive experience in some of the most acute behavioral health settings in the state, including leadership and clinical roles within Psychiatric Emergency Services and high-acuity inpatient units at Rhode Island Hospital. Through these roles, she developed advanced skills in crisis assessment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and complex case management. These experiences have strengthened her commitment to providing clinically rigorous, compassionate care while guiding patients through periods of significant psychological distress with professionalism, respect, and clinical expertise. - Specialized Medication Management: A Bridge to Balance
-
At Graceful Inner Light, she approaches psychopharmacologic treatment as a therapeutic tool designed to support stabilization, symptom reduction, and the development of adaptive self-regulation, rather than as an endpoint in care. Her prescribing philosophy emphasizes thoughtful, individualized medication use within a broader, comprehensive treatment framework. This approach is informed by her ongoing advanced clinical training at the University of Rhode Island.
As she progresses toward completion of her Post-Master’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certificate in May 2026, she continues to integrate current research in neurobiology, psychopharmacology, and trauma-informed care into her clinical decision-making. Her practice reflects a commitment to delivering care aligned with contemporary evidence-based standards and best practices in psychiatric treatment. - Board certification

A Holistic & Investigative Approach
Our practice moves beyond simple symptom management to honor the complexity of the whole person. Grounded in the clinical standards taught at the University of Rhode Island, we embrace a “start low and go slow” philosophy. This evidence-based strategy identifies the minimum effective dose necessary to achieve meaningful relief, ensuring your path to wellness is both gentle and precise.
Honoring the Gut-Brain Connection
Deeply informed by research, we recognize that your physical history and biology are inextricably linked. By understanding how your unique history influences your response to medication, we can thoughtfully integrate nutrition and lifestyle adjustments to work in harmony with your care plan.
Empowered, Collaborative Decision-Making
We believe that the most effective care happens in partnership. While we provide clinical expertise, you remain the primary authority on your own body. Together, we work as a dedicated team to determine when medication is the most appropriate tool for your journey, ensuring you feel respected, heard, and fully informed at every decision point.
Safety Through Trauma-Informed Care
We recognize that past experiences profoundly shape present health. Our prescribing practices are guided by a trauma-informed lens, which prioritizes your emotional safety and physical comfort. By fostering a clinical environment built on trust and transparency, we ensure that your treatment plan supports both your recovery and your sense of peace.
